Flanders Grand Prix Day 1
Never to old to try something new – the 200 m Flying lap was introduced as a new discipline on Friday of the 55th Flanders Grand Prix, final of the European Cup and home to the Cadet Challenge.
The track, newly coated with a Vesmaco toplayer, can reclaim it’s status as one of Europe’s fastest tracks!
Check out the detailed results on https://flandersgrandprix.be/results/2023.
With more than 600 athletes subscribed to the event, the first day was already busy with Elimination races for Cadets & Youth and Point races for the Junior & Senior categories.
Many of the Miniemen got to taste their first international experience while for some Pupillen & Scholieren it was a good test if they had improved compared to their opponents from last year.
The weather gods kept us dry, which was the closing piece for a successful first day. Checkout the impression video from today!
We look forward to tomorrow with the 500m+ to ignite the track, followed by Points races for Scholieren, Cadets and Youth and further seasoned by the passion of the youngest skaters!
Also our recreational skaters will climb the stage tomorrow. Track races for them are planned at 15h tomorrow and there is the leisure skating tour which explores low traffic roads for 40 km which will start from the track at 9.30 tomorrow morning.
See you tomorrow!
