Kamminga and Swings solo in roadraces

Optimal weather conditions at the start of the roadraces in the streets of Zandvoorde. Ladies had to skate 7 laps or 16K. First attempt to escape by the two protagonista of this tournament, Tas/Kamminga. After regrouping, there was a second attempt by the French Powerslide girl Deborah Marchand. Sandrine Tas had to work hard to chase her. After succeeding, a new escape by the PS leading lady Manon. She kept 15 seconds of advantage at the finish line where Tas was winning the groupsprint before German Josie Hofmann.

Swings from start to finish

Elton De Souza was perhaps the bravest amongst the athletes to follow Bart Swings as from the starting shot. Swings accelerated and went for a solo run for the remaining 12 laps. Gaining every lap 5" gave him more than a minute of advantage at the finish. He skate the roadrace over 30km at an average speed of 41,15km/h. Joris Gardères sprinted to silver, Luc Ter Haar bronze.
