Lollobrigida & Fernandez clear win 10K points

Flanders Grand Prix

Lollobrigida dominates in 10k points race

The italian blonde Francesca Lollobrigida dominated the women’s squad on Friday evening in the 10k points race. 15 points were enough to keep the argentine Maria Arias (11points) behind her. She made the difference in the last bend with a massive sprint. Only the german girls Berg, Thum and Strüver were able to finish the final sprint. Also a nice comeback of the Aussi Nicole Begg who made sure of her third place thanks to a strong start.

Ewen Fernandez made impression with solo

The Frenchman from the Powerslideteam had put his sights on this points race. In this strong field of participants he was able to collect 30 points by riding solo for many laps. Winner of a golden medal in Cali, the New Zealander Peter Michael had a strong final part of the race. He could pass Fernadez in the final part of the race but he was not able to compromise the victory of the Frenchman. Ezequiel Cappelano (Arg) was third. From Roller club ‘De Zwaantjes’ Siemen Tas was sixth and Wouter Meulders was eighth. Wannes Van Praet (Reko Zemst) fell early in the race, without too much fysical suffering.
