Swings playing hit-and-run one the road

Flanders Grand Prix

Bart Swings insisting after several attempts

Also the junior and senior  men had  to begin their 30km earlier than previous years. The pack did not stay closed because Felix Rijhnen attacked already from the beginning. He was soon overtaken but so paved the way for his fellow mates to move into some more attacks. Bart Swings, Peter Michael were joined by Diogo Marreiros and the Mexican Paez. Paez had to unload the roll and was overtaken by the bunch.

A barrage of attacks between the leading trio provided the necessary fireworks in the winding streets of the Ostend district. After four attempts, it was finally Bart went for a solo. Peter Michael stopped a little later in the game and the Portuguese Marreiros was again dredged up by the chasing peloton. Swings ended as the previous year with a generous lead solo. Marreiros won the bunch sprint beofre Elton De Souza who had a fast last 100m.
